Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, is the executive director and under-secretary-general of UN Women. Mambo-Ngcuka is one woman who understands the globally positive impact that will be gained when the United States of America would ratify the constitution to include the Equal Rights Amendment.
On the 14th of this month, August 2016, while speaking at a Unisa gathering celebrating Women”s Month, Mlambo-Ngcuka reminded the world of the findings of The World Health Organization. The negative impact of violence against women has reached pandemic proportions.
I agree when Mlambo-Ngcuka says, “Extremely disturbing is the tolerance of all crimes against women.”
Knowledge is power, and just because we may not see the direct abuse of women in our culture, (even as police statistics from live reports prove rape and abuse is at a global high – even in the united states), we can educate ourselves and work toward the E.R.A. as a force for good in our country, and the world, for our daughters, our mothers, our sisters, our selves, and all of the people directly related connected to all of us women. . .
