Georgia O’Keeffe was pioneering artist during the early 20th Century and is considered to be the originator of female iconography in art. Although celebrated as a feminist icon, she rejected her association with this artistic movement and claimed her work depicted the sensuality of nature. Regardless of this, her female-centric body of work has fuelled and inspired so many feminist artists across the world.
