I find Susan Sarandon to be an inspiring actor, and an inspiring woman. She speaks her mind and genuinely cares about women and their equal rights, while also being positive about men. She shows grace, while being outspoken, as she advocates for the rights of women to be able to choose what they do with their own bodies.
I too believe that women need to be viewed as equals to men because we are more than sexualized objects. When we work just as hard as the next guy we should be able to assume we will be paid accordingly.
Women with strong voices using their notoriety are important in effecting change. This is why I am using my notoriety to add my voice to the cause, with women such as Susan Sarandon as an example of how it is done.
Susan Sarandon admits that she would not call her self a “feminist” but a “humanist.” It is true that people think feminists are “bitches”. I can attest that I do not find this to be the case. A feminist believes in the equality for women and feels that bringing this need for equality attention will help everyone make the needed change in the laws needed in our great country.
We need to stand up for ourselves and our rights not only as women, but as people! We should not be scared to be heard because of the opinions of others. Women such as Susan Sarandon show us how it is done gracefully.
